South Korea's first astronaut said on the eve of her launch to the International Space Station that she will celebrate arrival in space by singing for her fellow crew.

Astronaut Lisuyan said her first reaction on reaching the International Space Station would be to cry out: "Wow!"

Yan's 12-day mission would cost South Korea around 20 million dollars in hope of developing her country's manned space flight ambitions.

Chinese coach expressed pessimism about Olympic gold

The head coach of China's swimming team has expressed pessimism about the prospect of Olympic gold after the nation's best swimmers performed poorly at the National Swimming Championships, an Olympic qualifying event.

"We have the confidence to do our best, but we really have no specific event that will be able to produce a gold medal at the Beijing Games," said Zhang Yadong after the tournament concluded on Tuesday.

Zhang's comments were in sharp contrast to those made by the chief official of the sport's governing body.

Glamour magazine's annual best-dressed women list released

British supermodel Kate Moss has regained her crown at the top of Glamour magazine's annual best-dressed women list.

34-year-old Moss dominated the list before the Australian pop star Kylie Minogue overtook her last year. Editor of Glamour said, “Kate’s back with a vengeance.”

Topping the worst-dressed list in Glamour this year was US singer Britney Spears. Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham was voted ninth worst-dressed of 2008, but also came 10th in the best-dressed list.
