Online and text message calls for boycotts of French Carrefour and other foreign retailers has been spreading through China in response to the disruptions of the Olympic torch relay in Paris.
Expressing understanding about patriotism among those calling to boycott French retailer Carrefour, several senior Chinese intellectuals Saturday called on the public to choose a rational way to express their love for the country.
近日，为抗议巴黎发生干扰奥运火炬传递，中国不少民众通过上网或手机短信号召国人抵制家乐福等外资商家。
上周六，学界人士在表示理解民众的抵制吁求的同时，呼吁公众选择理智的方式去表达爱国之情。

Maryland woman gives birth to rare quadruplets

A mother has given birth to a rare set of quadruplets in which three of the four boys are identical.
There are fewer than 100 documented cases of "identical triplets plus one" in the United States, hospital officials said.
The boys were born 11 weeks premature on their mother’s 32nd birthday. They were treated at the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, and have been home for about 2 and a half weeks.

Chinese sweep medals in IAAF walking challenge

Three Chinese athletes swept the medals in the men's 50km competition of the IAAF Race Walking Challenge in Beijing on Saturday. Si Tianfeng won the race in three hours 45 minutes and 13 seconds, followed by Zhao Chengliang and Li Jianbo.
The fourth fastest Yu Chaohong lost to the bronze medalist by six seconds.
