China amends Law on Protection of the Disabled

中国修订《残疾人保障法》

Chinese lawmakers adopted an amendment to better protect the country's more than 83 million disabled.

As China promised to allow guide dogs to enter public places during the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, the amendment agreed to lift such bans.

It said relevant regulations should be observed when guide dogs are used in aid of the disabled entering public venues.

中国出台了新修订的《残疾人保障法》以更好的保护八千三百万残疾人。

鉴于中国在申办２００８年奥运会时曾承诺导盲犬可以入境，并可出现在公众场合，所以修订草案也作了相关的规定。

草案指出，盲人携带导盲犬出入公共场所，应当遵守国家有关规定。

Woman finds 8-foot alligator in her kitchen

鳄鱼闯厨房 吓坏老妇人

Authorities say 69-year-old central Florida woman found an 8-foot long alligator prowling in her kitchen late at night.

The woman says the gator must have pushed through the back porch screen door and then went inside through an open sliding glass door at her home. It then apparently strolled through the living room, down a hall and into the kitchen.

A trapper with Animal Capture of Florida removed the alligator, which was cut by a plate that was knocked to the ground during the chaos. But no one inside the house was injured.

一名居于佛罗里达中部的69岁老妇，半夜在厨房内发现一条八英尺长的鳄鱼在觅食，吓得失神。

该名老妇表示，相信鳄鱼是挤进房子后面的网格门，再从打开的滑动玻璃门进入屋内的。它在客厅闲逛了一会，最后走到厨房觅食。

China's Ding Junhui overcame an opening session blip to secure his place in the second round of the snooker world championships here on Tuesday as he edged Hong Kong's Marco Fu 10-9.

It was Ding's first ever win at The Crucible after he lost heavily to Ronnie O'Sullivan on his first visit to the venue last year. He will face world champion Stephen Hendry in the second round.

Socialite Paris Hilton has reportedly been banned from a top Russian hotel--after signing her name on its expensive wallpaper.

The 27-year-old hotel heiress wrote 'Paris Moscow 2008' in a black marker pen in $16,000 a-night suite in the Hyatt Hotel in the Russian capital for a photo shoot in the room.

But bosses at the hotel were unimpressed--and fined her $9,000. A hotel spokesman says, "Miss Hilton ruined the wallpaper in the luxury suite. In such a case the client is automatically put on the black list."

美国社交名流帕丽斯•希尔顿因在一家豪华的俄罗斯酒店的墙纸上签名，被酒店列入黑名单。
