馒头国家标准公布:应是圆形或椭圆形
1日起，由国家标准委和国家质检总局联合发布的《小麦粉馒头》国家标准正式开始实施。该准则对馒头在感官方面要求馒头形态完整和美观，应该是圆形或椭圆形，没有褶皱、斑点。据悉，该准则只对小麦粉为原料的商品馒头有效。

Steamed Buns Got Authorized Criteria: They Should Be Round or Oval
Steamed buns, a traditional Chinese dietary mainstay, will now be served according to detailed criterions from the first day of 2008. Authorized by China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the Standardization Administration of China, steamed buns made of wheat flour, should take round or oval form with no folds and speckles.

Japan's PM takes YouTube route to raise profile
Japan's Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda has begun posting English-language New Year's message for 2008 on the video-sharing Internet site YouTube in an apparent bid to raise Japan's international profile. He says in the five-minute clip -- rarely smiling, in line with his dour image. It features official party videos designed to reach a younger, wider and more global audience.

Becks steps out with silvery locks
David Beckham has gone blond a few times but now his barnet looks silvery grey. The footie hunk, 32, celebrated the New Year with wife Victoria, 33, and pals including David Walliams at Claridge's in London's Mayfair. Posh wore a turban-style headband with lacy black dress and red shoes, while Becks sported a sharp suit under a camel coat. But David's hair now has a dodgy platinum hue that puts years on him. Especially as his short crop shows signs of thinning is some places. Maybe he should have worn the headband.
